Tree Planting

For every person who enters one of our events, we will plant a trees.

how does our tree planting partner operate?

Our tree planting partner helps reduce extreme poverty and restores healthy forests by employing local people to plant millions of trees every year.

They plant, grow, and guard the trees to maturity. They do this by empowering people from local villages. They will restore forests and woodlands, conserve habitats rich in biodiversity, and help communities who rely upon forests develop prosperous sustainable livelihoods.

As the reforestation efforts continue, healthy forests start to emerge and the negative effects of deforestation begin to disappear. These trees that are planted provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, restore ocean health, control flooding and erosion, and help to replenish the soil with the nutrients needed for farming.

Why do we need to plant trees?

The world in which we live in, and run in, is so important to us all. One person causes about 10 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) to be emitted a year. One tree removes about 1 ton of CO2 per year.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.  The next best time is now.

making a Big impact - one step at a time

Since they began, our tree planting partner has planted more than 583 million trees around the world.

Deforestation is a global phenomenon caused by a variety of factors. We will plant trees in nations that have been deforested to the degree that communities no longer have the resources for food, shelter, clean water, and education for their children.

Through our partner, we will hire people from local impoverished communities to plant trees which provides them with a sufficient income, so they can provide for themselves and their families. The work gives people a consistent income to provide for their families while working to restore the environment.

Where will we be planting trees?

Depending on where our partner have projects operating, we will be supporting tree planting in Madagascar, Haiti, Nepal, Indonesia, Mozambique, Kenya, and Central America.

the problem

Deforestation is a global phenomenon caused by a variety of factors. These factors range from large-scale slash and burn practices to unsustainable agriculture to daily community forest destruction.

The regions most impacted by deforestation are highly poverty-stricken and underdeveloped areas. With few options to support their families, often members of impoverished communities are forced to destroy their local environment to survive, such as cutting down trees for construction, fuel, heat, and agricultural purposes.

While this solves a short-term problem, long-term consequences arise when forests are cut down and not restored. The impact of deforestation is dramatic because it causes severe flooding, erosion, and desertification. The long-term effects of deforestation lead to even worse environmental devastation.

the solution

There are two key elements to successful reforestation. The first element is that reforestation must present a benefit to the local population. Due to the unsustainable relationship between the land and people, communities suffering from deforestation are often the same as those living in extreme poverty. It is essential to be committed to and work alongside local villages and communities to achieve a successful and longstanding reforestation effort.

Our tree planting partner utilises its Employ to Plant methodology to benefit members in the local communities where we plant. Through steady employment, people living in extreme poverty can begin to afford daily necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, and medicine.

The second critical element rests in funding. Without enough funds, there is little hope for successful and impactful reforestation.
